Mike - contact microphone preamp card for the Music Easel
Mike is a microphone preamp card with a piezo contact mic built into the panel.
With Mike, you can bring environmental noise and feedback into your Easel,
inspired by the early days of electroacoustic music in Paris and Cologne,
and by the contact microphone and phonograph cartridge experiments of John Cage,
Gordon Mumma, Robert Ashley and Nicholas Collins.
The concept/idea is based on Tom Whitwell's amazing work.
Features:
- input on switched 3.5 mm jack; if nothing is plugged in, you can still use the internal piezo
- gain is between about 5x and 130x
- signal out is on standard tini jack, to further use as sound source
- CV out is positive voltage only, for experiment even further
- Pulse out converts the audio to pulses
- switch to route the Pulse out to Pulser or EG (middle position - no routing)
- compatible with all Easels, except the rev1 DIY clone version
- hand-built, hand numbered
